“Nova Scotia Boosts Settlement Support: $3 Million Investment in Immigrant Integration!”

Nova Scotia has allocated an additional $3 million in settlement funds to enhance English language training, support healthcare professionals, cater to the francophone population, and implement community initiatives tailored to each region. Provincial Immigration Minister Jill Balser expressed gratitude for the influx of skilled professionals to Nova Scotia, particularly in critical sectors like healthcare and construction. Last year witnessed a significant increase in approved healthcare and construction professionals through immigration programs, addressing the pressing need for talented workers in these fields.

Vanessa White from Shannex International emphasized the importance of international recruitment in meeting the community’s healthcare needs and creating inclusive workplaces. Additionally, Nova Scotia’s construction sector received assistance through the Critical Construction Worker Pilot, facilitating the recruitment of workers from abroad across 21 occupations in the industry.
