Aligned with the Alberta Job Growth and Diversification Strategy, this bonus aims to support employers in attracting and retaining skilled talent crucial for the province’s economic success. Eligible individuals who relocate to Alberta after the program’s launch in April 2024 and meet specific criteria stand to receive the one-time $5,000 refundable tax credit.
Requirements include full-time employment in specified occupations, filing 2024 taxes in Alberta, and residing in the province for a minimum of 12 months. Minister of Jobs, Economy, and Trade, Matt Jones, expressed enthusiasm for the program, emphasizing its role in cultivating a resilient labor force and fostering economic prosperity.
